Our rich and varied curriculum is enhanced by exciting experiences, trips and special events; there are so many happy memories to be made. We also make time for the children to simply enjoy being children, with simple pleasures such as turning a cardboard box into a space rocket, jumping in puddles and playing with the leaves on a windy day!
In Reception, traditions such as baking cakes on your fifth birthday are enjoyed alongside a whole host of other exciting introductions to school life. Learning takes place through a combination of child-led and teacher-initiated activities, both inside the classroom and outside and in our woodland classroom.
Throughout Years 1 and 2, the teachers deliver an inspiring Creative Curriculum which enables the children to become experts in our carefully chosen topics, including Festivals and Celebrations, Wonderful Woods, Frozen Planet and Fairytale Castles. The National Curriculum objectives are fully delivered through these topics, which also feature highlights such as beach trips, a pirate adventure day, an alien disco and even a mediaeval banquet!
Every child in Pre-Prep enjoys an individual daily reading session with a trained adult. This one to one attention, alongside a daily phonics lesson, ensures that your child can make the very best progress in this key area. The children certainly love the opportunity to have a cosy chat each morning!
